Mediations
In addition to being involved in the defense of state and federal court litigation for 36 years, in 2005 Kennedy completed Pepperdine University's Mediating the Litigated Case Training and has a special interest in mediation both as a litigator and a mediator.
Kennedy is available to serve as neutral mediator for plaintiffs and defendants in all areas of litigation except divorce or family law. Kennedy is available to mediate cases involving personal injury, wrongful death claims involving auto, commercial transportation, construction, products and product defects, and premises liability.
Additionally, cases involving civil rights, health care, professional liability and employment discrimination are practice areas where Mr. Kennedy has litigated extensively and where he has a particular interest in mediating cases.
Kennedy is also available as a consultant to assist insurers or self insured entities in mediating complex cases.
Mediations Involving Government
Educated at the University of Pennsylvania in American Civilization and at Georgetown Law, Kennedy has had a keen interest in government and litigation involving governmental entities throughout his 36 years of practicing law. Kennedy has represented counties, small and large municipalities, school districts, judges, prosecutors, mayors, police officers, Chiefs of Police, Sheriffs, Sherriff deputies, and utility districts throughout Washington State. He has been a frequent speaker at governmental liability seminars in Washington State and nationally. He has served on a National Advisory Board for a major insurer of governmental entities.
Because of this experience, Kennedy has extensive knowledge of the concerns and special circumstances that influence decision making and the outcome of litigation, including resolution by mediation, in cases involving governmental entities here in Washington and across the nation.
